Etihad Guest miles expire after 18 months of inactivity for Bronze, Silver, and Gold members, but can be extended another 18 months by flying with Etihad or partner airlines. Platinum and Diamond members enjoy miles that never expire.
Guest program implements complex tiered change fees based on timing and award type: free for Deluxe awards 21+ days out, ranging from AED 100-400 (~$27-108 USD) based on timing and award category. Cancellation fees range from free (Deluxe, 21+ days) to 100% of fare (all categories within 24 hours). Changes are not permitted within 24 hours for Value and Comfort awards. Etihad's cancellation policy is arguably one of the worst in the industry.
